“Educators value the involvement and support of parents, guardians, families and communities in schools.”

It is simple, the students always enjoy the involvement of the heads of the household!

To me, it is important to always display to the parents (guardians or families) what the students have been working on. The student may seem like they do not want to show you what they are working on; they do not want to feel judged. However, when parents involve themselves, see the final product and enjoy the process. The student gleams with excitement when they feel seen!!

I need to point out to anyone seeing this, please, encourage and support what your kids do! They are kids, sometimes we forget how hard they work to finish a product for the first time and how exciting it is to climb those mountains (to them) that might seem like hills (to adults). But we are adults, we have gone through the hills and the valleys. The biggest encouragement kids can have is someone they look up to who just sees their product, acknowledges their effort and just says “good job!”.

I invite all to involve themselves in the process of education. This does not always mean teaching, that’s the job of the teacher, but at the end of the day say “wow! I love how hard you are working and it shows. Please keep going and giving it your all!”. I believe that if you just read those words they resonated inside you and we all wish we could hear them sometimes.
